Group Exhibition O.C.S.D. Charity Art Exhibition
Taro Yakumo participated in the “O.C.S.D. Charity Art Exhibition,” held at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Omokado from November 27 to December 4, 2024.
This exhibition is part of a charitable initiative launched to support students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as those living in regions still recovering from natural disasters. Now in its fourth edition, the project brings together artists from diverse fields to create and present works aligned with a unifying theme.
The 2024 edition, titled “Photograph – Memories Are Eternal,” featured works that capture moments intended to remain vividly in memory. A total of 18 participants, including contemporary artists, illustrators, and cultural figures, contributed to the exhibition, forming a multidisciplinary presentation that bridges art and broader creative practices.
The event is organized under the O.C.S.D. project, a school uniform brand developed through the collaboration between OSARECOMPANY, known for producing costumes for major Japanese idol groups such as AKB48, and AKASHI S.U.C., a long-established company in the school uniform industry. This background situates the exhibition at the intersection of fashion, design, and contemporary culture.
Located at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Omokado, in the Harajuku–Omotesando area, the venue stands at one of Tokyo’s most influential cultural crossroads. Known as a center of youth culture, fashion, and creative expression, the area attracts a large and diverse audience, including international visitors.
Within this highly active urban environment, his artwork reached a broad public beyond the traditional art audience. The exhibition not only provided visibility within a culturally significant location but also resulted in direct engagement from visitors, including international audiences encountering the work in person.
Through continued participation in this charity exhibition, his practice is positioned within a context that combines social contribution, cultural relevance, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, reinforcing its presence within both the contemporary art scene and wider creative industries.
