Solo Exhibition ZEN~Beyond the Pop~

between the arts presented a solo exhibition by Taro Yakumo, “ZEN — Beyond the Pop,” held from March 19 to April 7, 2022, at between the arts gallery in Motoazabu, Tokyo. 

In this exhibition, Taro presented nine new works based on his own sense of spirituality, incorporating universally familiar motifs and icons rendered in a limited palette of gold, silver, and black.

 
Moving beyond the surface of pop culture, the works explore the coexistence of opposing states, where the quiet stillness and clarity associated with “Zen” exist alongside vibrant visual expression.
